Post- Study Work And Immigration

Canada offers a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) for fresh graduates. To be eligible you must have completed at least 8 months of learning at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).  Students must submit all necessary documents including a letter from the DLI that they have met all requirements to graduate. They must also hold or have proof of having held a valid student permit. The study program you follow must lead to a degree, diploma or certificate. The employability of these students to the Canadian workforce is extremely high. After completing a PHD you are entitled to upto 3 years work permit which may lead to PR or citizenship.

Scholarships

There are several scholarships for students studying at postgraduate level and doctorate levels.Those offered include governmental, non-government and university specific scholarships. International students are eligible to apply for these scholarships as long as they are studying in a participating university. If you are thinking of applying for a scholarship, get cracking at least a year early.
